Nuts
It’s no secret that I heart Mike Rowe. There’s just something about a manly man who can sing opera and who is intelligent.
But I digress. Last night LB and I were watch Mike Rowe in the Goose Down Plucker episode. (Seriously maybe the funniest episode ever. It should be on a t-shirt.) During this episode he also helped out on a walnut farm? Orchard? So LB suddenly announces that he wants some nuts after watching Mike Rowe pop another walnut in his mouth. I told him I had walnuts (crinkles his nose) and almonds (crinkles his nose and curls his lip). I offer pumpkin or sunflower seeds, but warn him they are not salted and natural. With a sigh he gives into the offer of walnuts with disdain and a plaintive wish for peanuts. I sputter about how peanuts aren’t good for you. Walnuts and Almonds are so much better for you. Especially unroasted and unsalted. (As the ones I have. Obviously.)
And that’s how the dispute started.
Enter Google. (Oh greatest wonder of the world. How my life would shrivel without you. Or at least I would look much, much stupider.)
…and lo and behold this site proclaims me the “winner”! (Which, as anyone in a relatioship knows, makes any seemingly pointless point valuable.)
So just in case you are curious…the top 6 healthiest nuts are:
1. Walnuts
2. Almonds
(Like I cared beyond this point.)
3. Cashews
4. Pecans
5. Brazil Nuts
6. Macadamia Nuts
LB ignored my jubilation and instead tried to side track my joy with the ominous reminder that they are to be eaten in moderation.
I think he’s just jelous that I know my nuts.

That’s fabulous. I love that peanuts weren’t on the list at all! Except. I like peanuts.
